Welcome to Zakynthos. My family have been coming to Greece since 1958 and we’ve had a house on Zakynthos since 1980. Our home sits just off the road to Meso Gerakari, set in about three quarters of an acre of grounds covered with lemon, orange and olive trees.
As you enter the house the kitchen is to your left and to the right there’s a large living room with a dining table and comfortable seating. Upstairs there are three air-conditioned bedrooms, a double and two twins, a bathroom with shower and three balconies. There’s also a downstairs shower room. Both bathrooms are fitted with Grohe showers and have marble floors and shower trays.
Stepping out of the living room you can either admire the sea views from the front balcony, or retreat to the large rear terrace, shaded by its own olive trees. Here you will find tables and seating where you and your friends or family can relax with a drink, and gaze out across the Ionian Sea towards Cephalonia.
Stairs lead from the front of the house down to your completely private 8 by 4 metre pool, and on both that level and the next one you will find a citrus grove which consists of about 30 lemon and orange trees, ideal for whenever you need a gin and tonic.
Psarou itself is in the north-east of the island and is about a 12km, or 25 minute drive, from the airport. It is positioned in a small hamlet close to the sea, and near the hilltop village of Meso Gerakari. Situated in a quiet and undeveloped part of the island it is perfect for those wishing to have a holiday away from the noise of the main tourist areas whilst also being equidistant between the resorts of Tsilivi/Planos and Alykes/Alykanas. Both these resorts are about a 10 minute drive away and younger members of any group will find more than enough bars and discos to keep them amused for a week or two. Less than a mile away you will find tavernas, a baker, butcher and well stocked supermarket. The local beach is less than a two minute drive away and is perfect for small children.
Whilst we will leave you in peace during your stay, the pool is cleaned every 4/5 days and bed linen and towels will also be changed at least weekly. You will be met at the airport and there is a local contact on the island who will be able to help should you encounter any problems.
